About SBW Wealth Management & Employee Benefits


SBW Wealth Management & Employee Benefits was formed in 1997 when Roger Sinclair, Peter Billard and Rob Weld came together to create a firm that could specifically address the complex needs of business owners. They knew that the challenges faced by business owners were unique and they wanted to do something about it. So, they set about to form a company that would address the wealth management and planning requirements of the business owner, while providing a full line up of group retirement and employee benefits that would help protect their businesses.

Since that time, the firm has flourished. To serve their clients throughout Atlantic Canada, the team has continued to grow, including the important addition of Andrew MacKinnon as a partner in 2006 and Jamie Spence as partner in 2013.

SBW has developed a proprietary planning approach that expands well beyond the typical "retirement planning models" that are used in the industry. They look into the real goals, values, and vision of their clients' families to ensure they understand the long view, and then build a plan to support those outcomes. SBW believes firmly in planning for legacy – for what will exist beyond ourselves – and that's part of the reason that the firm and its principals are so active in the community.
